Silver Dust

“Silver Dust” off of our 2004 album Mars Eclipsing.

“I got to the studio where I was working with Jamie and I said, ‘Give me four on the floor,’ and this is what we got,” says Geoff.

George has described “Silver Dust” as The Raygun Girls’ version of Glam Metal.

“When I put the lyrics together, I had in mind Hollywood, drugs, glitz,” says Geoff.

Jamie was emulating Phil Collins on the drum breaks.

Lyrics: Geoff Saavedra

Pretty Kitty Fur
Makes me wonder
Where you were last night
When the lights went out on old Broadway
So I dream of what the future would have been
Making money for a living

Sell your body, sell your soul
Lose your mind
You lose control
(Sell your body
Sell your soul)

*Let’s pretend in the silver dust that I can trust
(Let’s pretend)
And fly on the wings of your prayer
I give this to you
I give this to you
(repeat)

Ragin’ blue
 eyes for you
Makes me wonder who you were last night
Dreamin’ all the time of you and me
And you and she
Nightmare is all that I can see
In the walls of this mind

Sell your body, Sell your soul
Lose your mind
You lose control
Sell your body
Sell your soul

*

(break)

Sell your body, Sell your soul
Lose your mind
You lose control
Sell your body
Sell your soul

*
