Release Me

“Release Me” off of our 2011 album The Taker.

“Release Me” along with “Black Holes” were the first songs to be recorded in 2011 for the RPM Challenge (write and record a full album in one month – February).

You can hear remnants of the old style of Raygun Girls music, with drum loops and effected guitars.

“This song was really a release for me,” says Geoff. “After hearing what I created with this song, I started to become comfortable with my skills.”  Geoff had hidden behind the guitar abilities of Jason for 3 years, and behind the vocal abilities of a female singer.  This put Geoff up front.

Lyrics: Geoff Saavedra
Music: Geoff Saavedra

If I can’t remember your name
And I can’t see your face
In darkness I feel
I can’t remember
I can’t describe this
This wholly lonely feeling
Don’t leave me alone
Don’t leave me alone

Breakin through and the river runs
Above the screams that I have become
Release me
Release me
Rip all and the color flows
End this life that I’ve ever known
Release me
Release me

To end this life that’s been given to me
To start again and try to relive the past
Clean up and start again
Fill me up and start again

Breakin through and the river runs
Above the screams that I have become
Release me
Release me
Rip it all and the color flows
End this life that I’ve ever known
Release me
Release me

Don’t leave me alone
