Learning to Die

“Learning to Die” off of our 2009 album Dirt Collector.

“Learning to Die” is the last song that we were working on before Jason left the band.  And, therefore, the first song we worked on as a 3-piece.  You can hear the guitar part that Jason came up with in the intro section and in the bridge section, where George plays the riff on the bass.

George immediately came up with the lyrics- from the eyes of a killer.

Lyrics: George Tsolekas
Music: Geoff Saavedra, Jason Donnelly

I drink the psychopathic bloodshed
follow me to the pools of ink red
you’ll never see the daylight again
I wanna be you

come on and sit down and feel me
come on and lay down believe me
come on and sit down forgive me
lay down and come on
I want you to turn off the light now
why won’t you turn off the lights now
i used to beg for forgiveness
but now the world needs to see this

i wanna lick you clean and rub on your bones
sullied flesh you are so cold
now you cry, “what did i do?”
what did I answer?

come on and sit down and feel me
come on and lay down believe me
come on and sit down forgive me
lay down and come on
I want you to turn off the light now
why won’t you turn off the lights now
i used to beg for forgiveness
but now the world needs to see this

now i got you here
you’re not so tough
feeling high and dangerous
look around
who are you
I’m mother nature

come on and sit down and feel me
come on and lay down believe me
come on and sit down forgive me
lay down and come on
I want you to turn off the light now
why won’t you turn off the lights now
i used to beg for forgiveness
but now the world needs to see this
